Deprecated across Copilot, with an exception for annual individual plans.

GitHub states Claude Sonnet 4.6 remains available to individual Copilot subscribers on annual plans so they retain a Sonnet offering; the deprecation does not apply to those customers. Replacement named: Claude Sonnet 5.

Deprecated. Replacement named: Gemini 3.6 Flash.

Gemini 3.1 Pro was simultaneously one of only three models GitHub listed under visual work and one of six under deep reasoning — the comparison page was recommending it on the day it was retired.

Deprecated. Replacement named: MAI-Code-1-Flash.

The named successor is itself deprecated nine days later. Following the migration literally means moving twice; MAI-Code-1.1-Flash is the destination that survives both dates.

Changed: Task groupings

Task groupings realigned to exactly the models GitHub places in each group.

This dataset previously assigned every Opus release to deep reasoning and every Flash release to fast work by inference. GitHub names five models under general-purpose and three under fast; 20 of 32 models sit in no group at all. A model GitHub does not place now carries an empty grouping rather than one this site inferred.
